Toronto, Ontario –December 22, 2017– Baylin Technologies Inc. (“Baylin”) (TSX: BYL) today announced the grand opening of the R&D Centre of Excellence in Ottawa, Canada.
On Tuesday December 19th the Baylin Executive team travelled to the nation’s capital to officially open the Canadian R&D Centre of Excellence. Dr. Minya Gavrilovic and his team hosted the Baylin executives for the launch, tour and ribbon cutting festivities. Invited guests included the West Ottawa Board of Trade, Canadian customers and friends of the company.
The 13,000 square foot custom built state of the art facility was designed specifically with a goal of creating complicated high quality antenna products as nimbly as possible. Galtronics’ goal isto maintain its position at the forefront of the wireless antenna sector. By locating in this renowned tech area they have access to the best engineering talent in the region. Currently there are 5 PhD’s on staff.
Dr. Gavrilovic, EVP of Innovation, is very pleased with the move into the facility. “We started building a team and worked in small temporary spaces while this facility was being built. We have added engineers and technicians over the last six months in a very strategic manner. While the tight working conditions were challenging, the close proximity to one another created tremendous collaboration and cohesion for the team. While the space is extraordinary, it is the people working here who will ultimately make the difference to our business”, explained Dr. Gavrilovic.
President and CEO, Randy Dewey stated, “We are very pleased to have a R&D Centre of Excellence in Canada. Being publicly traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and having the majority of our customer base located in North America, this move to Ottawa makes tremendous sense for us. ”
